Beach and Group Records Forms

Form 1 About Your Beach

Complete Form 1 only once, after the first visit to the beach, unless any information has changed.
    Email address will be kept private and not shared.
    Location of Beach - complete ONE of the following 3 fields:
    JPG, PNG or GIF, 2-3 MB adequate
    JPG, PNG or GIF, 2-3 MB adequate
    Observe and record: Walk the length of the beach, or the section of the beach chosen for monitoring, and observe and write down all the different aspects of the beach and the activities taking place, e.g. type of beach material, animals, plants, buildings behind the beach, human activities, debris.
    Draw by hand a simple sketch map displaying some of the key observations. Discuss the map with the group. Take a photo of the sketch map, save it as a JPG, PNG, or GIF image, select Choose File to insert.
    Establish up to 3 measurement points at the beach (include photo with date taken):
    • Select three points at the back of the beach where the beach width and other measurements start (see Form 2). Each point should be safe from storm waves, e.g. a building or a wall.
    • If the group makes only one set of measurements, submit the description for Point A and the photo for Point A only.
    • Insert a description of Point A (include a GPS reference if available) and insert a photo for Point A.
    • Establish a second point (Point B) at the back of the beach where the beach width and other measurements start (see Form 2). The point should be safe from storm waves, e.g. a building or a wall.
    • (If the group makes only one set of measurements, do not fill this field.)
    • Insert a description of Point B (include a GPS reference if available) and insert a photo for Point B.
    • Establish a third point (Point C) at the back of the beach where the beach width and other measurements start (see Form 2). The point should be safe from storm waves, e.g. a building or a wall.
    • (If the group makes only one set of measurements, do not fill this field.)
    • Insert a description of Point C (include a GPS reference if available) and insert a photo for Point C.
