Tagmore Memorial Secondary

Guyana's Tagore Memorial Secondary School Sandwatch Team
April 19th, 2026: The TMSS Sandwatch Group successfully conducted its second beach profile reading, alongside an exciting mini cleanup competition that even drew the interest of curious onlookers.
Today’s team was led by Jiwan Satram of Grade 8C, who demonstrated excellent leadership in guiding the group through the beach profiling process. Special commendations go to Roshan Persaud of 9S and Neal Tahal of 8C for their efficient data collection using both standard equipment and innovative, makeshift tools.
Sandwatch continues to provide students with a unique opportunity to learn beyond the classroom. Through hands-on activities, students strengthen their skills across multiple disciplines, including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, English Literature, Art, and Technology, while also developing a deeper sense of environmental responsibility. The initiative fosters community involvement and collaboration, working steadily toward the protection and preservation of our beaches.
We extend special thanks to our Sandwatch facilitator for Trinidad, Mr. Megell Mohammed, for his guidance and supervision. Appreciation is also extended to our dedicated Environmental Club member, Mrs. Ratna Tahal, for her unwavering support.
We are equally grateful to the youths from our community for their meaningful contributions:
* Randy Sannichar (No. 66 Village)
* Morvin Mahabir (No. 56 Village)
* Nicolas Tahal (No. 66 Village)
* Runick Indar (No. 67 Village)
Your efforts play a vital role in preserving our environment, especially at No. 63 Beach.
Finally, we recognize the commitment and leadership of the club’s coordinator, Miss Sabrina Ramratan, whose dedication continues to drive the success of both the TMSS Sandwatch Club and Environmental Club.
Stay tuned for more upcoming activities and initiatives!
